Ron Faso, CPA | Partner

After graduating from Canisius College and spending the next 10 years split between Deloitte & Touche and corporate finance, I was referred to my current business Partner, John Baldo. Little did I know that not only would I find a great new job and career, but a friend and business partner as well. The journey has been incredible and the team we have built here at SelectOne makes it a joy to come to work every day. The excitement of meeting so many great people and having every day be completely different is what makes the job so fulfilling.  Outside of work I love spending time with my wife and daughter.  Summertime golf, winter pick up Ice Hockey, and spending time in my work shop occupy my free time, although by looking at the home projects I've actually completed, you’d never know.

My Perspective on Leadership, Success, and Business:

I would describe my leadership style as laid back, almost passive. I believe in clearly & firmly outlining expectations of staff, providing them with the tools to succeed, guiding them in their actions and them letting them go. I encourage risk taking and creativity. Ultimately I believe in hiring smart, dedicated people that are inherently self motivated. Those qualities ultimately make the most successful employees that are adaptable to almost any leadership style.  Success is not something that can be measured monetarily, rather it is defined as your stakeholders (clients, candidates, employees and business partners) belief in your ability, which I strive to earn (& maintain) daily.  My overall business philosophy is the golden rule - Treat others as you would want to be treated yourself. That means doing the right thing, even when doing the right thing is the cleary more difficult. If you do the right things consistently, people (clients, candidates, employees, etc) will notice and respect you. My favorite business accomplishment is creating and building SelectOne Search. I'm amazed every day at the great company we have, a company built with smart, ethical, (and funny) people, who are dedicated and have a strong belief in our purpose and our mission.

Random Interesting Facts:

I’ve made two Hole-In-Ones.  I also purchased a manual transmission Acura as my first new car, and then stalled it on my way to work on the Kensington the first time I drove it!
